About Us

History

Code Camp is a community event where developers come to learn from and network with their peers. Expect lots of education, networking and food. The basic format is that of a traditional conference. We start with registration Saturday morning, after that, we will have a short briefing and keynote followed by lots of sessions and prizes. Lunch follows after that, more sessions, more prizes, then closing remarks and more prizes. Hopefully a pub club (a dinner\gathering type event) provided by one of our generous sponsors will top off the event.

Throughout the day we hope to have an area for open space, gaming, Silverlight hands on labs, Women in development, and a gathering place for friends and family of code camp attendees.

An original Code Camp organizer, Thom Robbins, wrote a six-point manifesto:

  • By and for the developer community
  • Always free
  • Community developed material
  • No fluff – only code
  • Community ownership
  • Never occur during working hours
